Squash Coaching update

Hi All I thought it was about time for an update on the progress made with the squash coaching. Junior Squash Junior coaching commenced again with junior tennis members and all members children being encouraged to give it a try. The numbers attending have risen from 0 to our best attended session having 10 children aged from 5 to 14, the sessions have an emphasis on fun and learning and I am now supported by one of the parents Spencer Payne in a safety and supervision capacity, we hope to continue to grow the numbers further and then look to involve another coach, so if you have any children that might want to give it a go bring them down, if they want to bring friends that is great also, we have invested in new rackets and safety goggles so no need for any equipment initially (just clean shoes please). Following feedback from parents and children we will now be starting the junior session at 14:30 finishing at 15:50 to give the children more game time alongside the technical coaching, the cost for the extended period is now £5 (previously £3.50). Senior Squash Senior coaching on a Saturday has seen the number of attendees grow and we have had 18 senior members including team players attending on various weekends, numbers per session are generally around 6, we work on general basic fitness, technical coaching and game coaching, all levels are very welcome and using both courts fully i am able to deliver sessions suitable for differing levels. Initially the session was only planned to be from 15:50 to 16:50, however I have been extending the session to 17:50 and following feedback from those atending i will now be running two one hour sessions, 15:50 to 16:50 and 16:50 to 17:50, costs will remain at £5 per hour or £7.50 for both, the two hour session has been very popular so far so come and give it a go. Individual coaching A number of people have approachd me for individual coaching and currently i am running three sessions on a Tuesday evening from 19:50 to 22:30 which are fully booked by 3 pairs of players (you may have see the courts booked as "coaching", if you do see this then please be assured that the courts are fully utilised and if i get any cancellations i will release the courts). The option to pair up for a session to share costs and experiences has proven to be a succesfull option, and feedback from those attending is that an occassional individual session supports the pair session very well. Costs are £15 for 40 minutes and £20 per hour and £5 for every 20 minutes if you wish to extend sessions further, i currently have one member wishing to find somebody to pair with so let me know if you are interested in your own sessions or pairing up. Group coaching I have delivered a number of sessions for the mens teams which were well received, if you would like to get a number of people together to have a group session then give me a call and we can set something up, £20 a session up to 4 people, more than 4 is £5 per person, so again it is a cost effective way of improving your game or fitness or both! Services I can now arrange for rackets to be strung, Costs from £20 depending on quality of string requested, if you need a racket strung leave it behind the bar for me to collect and let me know via call, text or email that it is there and when you need it back, i will discuss string tension and type with you. I am able to supply technifibre rackets (i personally use these as do a number of team players), if you are interested in trying one let me know. Contact details Mobile 07808 823738 Email jonathan.peak@siemens.com Personally i am pleased with the start made and i am excited about growing the junior section further and offering more support to the senior section as necessary. If you have any ideas or feedback regarding the coaching then please contact either myself, Andy Campbell or James Alty. One point I would like some feedback on is whether you would like to attend some sessions on Safety on court, covering "lets" and "points" Thanks for all the support so far Regards Jonathan
